About
Our Services
We
meet for worship every Sunday at 11:00 am. Children
join the congregation for the first portion of
the service. Midway through the service we celebrate
a Time With the Children where they are invited
to participate in a story or discussion led by
the Pastor or a lay leader. At the conclusion of
this time together, they then proceed to their
Sunday School classes for study and crafts. The
nursery is available at all times if a parent feels
the need to remove their infant or young child
from the service. However we delight in their presence
and find the parents are more sensitive to this
need than we are!
On
the first Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy
Communion as part of our worship service.
Communion
in our congregation is open to all who wish to know
the presence of Christ and to share in the community
of God's people. The invitation and the call to this
common meal celebrate not only the memory of a meal
that is past, but an actual meal with the risen Christ
that is a foretaste of the heavenly banquet at which
Christ will preside at the end of history. We believe
that God desires our oneness with all people, everywhere,
and we long for the day when we may all be one. Children
age eight and older who have received instruction
about the meaning of the sacrament may receive communion
at their parents’ discretion. Children not
receiving communion are given an individual blessing
by the Pastor. For more information on the practice
of Holy Communion within the United Church of Christ
